Instagram, the social media platform is not done with its series of upgrades. According to reports, testing will soon begin on the ‘Repost’ feature that will enable users to repost feeds and reels directly on the app. Although the Meta-owned company has not publicly released this feature yet, it plans to begin testing with some selected users.
“We’re exploring the ability to reshare posts in Feed, – similar to how you can reshare in Stories – so people can share what resonates with them, and so original creators are credited for their work. We plan to test this soon with a small number of people.”- Seine Kim, a spokesperson from Meta told TechCrunch in an email.

Matt Navarra, a Social Media Consultant noticed it and posted it in a thread on Twitter. He was not the only one that made this observation, sometime in May, Alessandro Paluzzi noticed it, – this shows that Instagram has been working on this feature for a while now.

The capacity to share someone else’s post is not completely new to Instagram users, this can be done with stories and direct messages. Now, this new feature would let users share a post on their feeds without having to screenshot it and repost it through another app.
